Preparing teachers to teach agricultural informatics — downloadable book
This book is for teachers of agriculture who want to use modern tools to teach and train professionals who meet the needs of today's labour market.
In Hungarian agriculture, the lack of human resources is one of the main obstacles to the spread of IT solutions. What is needed are not just agricultural engineers or IT specialists, but specialists who are familiar with both IT and agricultural production, who design and operate applications, and who train and advise users.
The agri-informaticians of the future at secondary level must be taught by well-informed teachers with a modern approach, who teach the use of new technologies and have a complex view of the whole agri-informatics process.
This book helps to prepare them for this.
The first part of the book introduces a number of methods and information and communication tools to support active learning, as well as free online learning resources. The second part provides up-to-date information on current European agricultural strategies and initiatives, while the third part introduces the basic concepts, tools and machines of Agriculture 4.0.
The book was published as part of the Agriteach project.
